It's still been a long time...
Well, Spring break is over, and so are the Bearcats in the NCAA tourney; they lost to UCLA in the second round.
It's all cool though cuz Bob Huggins is staying at UC!
I haven't had much time to blog these days. Spring Quarter began today, and it looked more like late winter outside, just rainy and windy and just plain cold. The type of cold that makes you want to stay in the house. But I had to go and take care of business though. Still have books to purchase; I am so tempted to sign up for a credit card right about now. I get at least a couple of applications in the mail about week-and-a-half, and there are credit card reps on campus every now and again. I'll just hold off a little longer on applying for a major credit card.
But I digress, I need to go and read some chapters from the classes that I'm taking. Let's see I'm taking:
Spanish (last quarter of it -woo hoo!)
American History (1920-present)
Microeconomics (which seems to hard already, and the class has only met once!)
Physics of sound and music (I hope that the class is interesting, cuz I'm not good at science)
and the Principles of Information Systems (which is my last business core course before I begin classes based on my major- woo hoo!).

Right when I was starting up that site at envy.nu, this happens: http://envynews.0catch.com/ That's the business world for ya.
It's been a long time...since I blogged!
Winter quarter classes are now over! I'm officially celebrating spring break, although technically it doesn't begin until Monday. But who cares-I'm free from campus stress for a week! I even decided to take a week off from work, which seems a bit extreme because I enjoy my job, but I just don't want to see the UC campus until March 25th, that's all. The only UC related thing that I would like to hear about is the Bearcats being in the NCAA tourney. I checked out the ESPN official site yesterday way before the cats whooped Boston College later on that evening to check out the brackets. I thought about filling one out, but I don't know of anyone running any pools to predict the winners. I remember reading an editorial in the campus newspaper, and the writer pratically said that he's just gonna enjoy watching all the games, instead of rattling his brain trying to predict who's gonna beat whom, especially if you're guessing. That doesn't seem like a bad idea at all; I may download the brackets in pdf format just to have something to do.
Since I'm free from school and work at the library for a week, I think that I'm finally going to open my website at Geocites. At first I used it to transfer all of my pics from my MSN site, because it was at risk of shutting down. Then I began to use it to link to pictures for this blog. After all of that, I should just go on ahead and open it up as a website. Just for an in the meantime sort of thing until I find something else to do...endless possibilities.
I did one thing today: I watched parts of our New Year's Eve party on tape, from 2000 (going into 2001), with my Mom . I haven't seen that tape since my Dad went to heaven. I don't perfer to say died, it just doesn't sit well with me. Anywho, it was just funny to see him try to sing along with the songs that were playing, and watch him scratch his belly on camera. I know that it sounds odd, but all you could see under his sweater was white t-shirt. My Dad wasn't a little guy, he was kinda, well, round, but it just looked funny to see his mannerisms on tape. I'm very grateful that we have New Year's Eve tape. Maybe one day I can show it to my kids, which will be a long time from now. Not ready for the babies just yet!
Gonna go for now and start to work on that layout!

My world is revolving around school, maybe a bit too much. Well, finals are coming up dammit!
Can't ya just feel the tension?!
Ok, now I'm going through chorus withdrawls already, and it's only been one day since that class has ended for the quarter. It ended on a high note, with the big Spring kick-off concert Sunday afternoon. Although I sitll have the rest of the week for the rest of my classes (Managerial Accounting, Business Law, Business Statistics, Spanish, and Effective Public Speaking)- I still won't be ready for finals next week. I'm never fully prepared; I can study all quarter (in which I haven't) and still don't feel prepared.
Oy Vey! Uh, did i spell that right?!?
I have a feeling that this is gonna be another one of those quarters. I'm not expecting to be back at any point of normalcy just yet-I have a long way to go to adjusting to my new situation at home, with it being just my Mom and I now. It still feels weird; I believe that the uneasiness will always remain, but it gets more bearable with time. When push comes to shove, I will still miss my Dad; no doubt about it!
I'm very sure that I will pass Effective Public Speaking, Spanish, and Business Law; I'm am unsure about passing Business Stats, but Managerial Accounting especially.
Well, I forgot that wrestling was on, so I'm gonna watch a little of that to ease my mind a bit then get back to my homework, eventually.

Countdown to...everything!
The end of the quarter is approaching, that why my blogs are getting few and far between. I have finals in two weeks and Spring Break the week of March 17th! I cannot wait! Knowing me, I will probably get some more hours in to save up a little $, just in case I cannot work that many hours in the Spring Quarter, depending on how I configure my schedule.
The big concert for the Men's and Women's University Choruses is on Sunday, which is hard to believe. I just hope and pray that my cold is gone by then. It should be.
I missed 3 of my 4 classes on Monday on account of it. My body felt so weak that I couldn't make it through the rest of the day with classes. I just went to my 9 am Managerial Accounting class, and then to my Doctor's appointment at 10:30. After picking up my medicine, along with some orange juice, a bagel and some chicken noodle soup, I made it home around 12:30. Went to sleep for a few hours and got up to begin studying for my Stats exam that I'm going to take in a few hours. I think that I'm prepared.
Not much has occured today, except for the drastic drop in temperature that made it cold enough to snow, and its still snowing outside as I type this.

Damn Netscape! I ended up posting the same entry twice! Oh well, it will just have to stay then.
Last night was my second concert as a member of the University Women's Chorus. We, along with the Men's Chorus performed "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." I heard the song before-well, the melody anyways-but didn't know the name of the song, let alone the lyrics. It sort of goes like this:
Glory, Glory Halleujah!
Glory, Glory Halleujah!
Glory, Glory Halleujah!
His truth is marching on!
I hope that I don't get in trouble for posting lyrics without permission. Sound like something from Business Law class; which also reminds me, that I need to read the next chapter so I can follow along duirng tomorrow's lecture. Thank goodness that is my only class tomorrow! Business Stats is cancelled! I'm afraid for Tuesday, because I have my second exam in that class. I need to study all weekend pratically.
The mind is beginning to wander; guess that's my cue to get out of here.
Might as well link to a pic thatI made while I'm at it. Trying to learn how to use the erase function on PhotoImpact

Well, it looks like I have to continue explaining this exciting, busy, yet confusing weekend right here since the last entry was pretty lengthy.
Well, anywho...
Yea, the old guy was looking at us crazy and I got up and briefly told Justin about it. I told him in so many words: "If I try to throw a punch at him, grab me." I was that heated. I just don't enjoy it when people continously look at me or any of my friends strange. After I moved, he continued to turn around. After a while, Justin made this "turn around" signal at the guy with his finger. Eventually the guy moved a row or two up and got the hell out of there. We were content from then on-the Bearcats won. I called myself flirting with dude in the Bearcats jersey. The end. Well, not quite; some of us went to Steak and Shake around 1am to get desert. I got home around 2am.
And then there was Saturday! My girl Mary and I decided to hook up and hang out Saturday afternoon. We met Downtown, and I got to see that one guy (Dave is his name) again. He got me a bear, some candy and a card for V-day. It was a sweet gesture. Mary told me that he still wants to get on with me; but he doesn't say much from the two times that I've seen him. If somebody is quieter than me, then something's wrong. I am sill wondering what happened to the other David (the NKU cutie) went to. Maybe I should email him to see what's up. But I don't wanna seem like I'm buggin' him though. There is always that fine line between concern and annoyance.
Well, while out on our excursion, Mary's brother Alexx picked us all up; it was Mary, myself, Mary's lil' sis, Mary's boyfriend, and David. All of us was squished hella close in his car; his car reminds me of some car that you would see in The Fast and the Furious! It was hella cool!
While at Northgate mall, I applied and got approved for a credit card at Olstermann Jeweler's. Maybe the next time that I could get out there, I'm going to purchase a dressy watch to replace the old one that got broken. It's my first credit card by the way. :) I'm sure that I can handle it, as long as I don't go on a jewelry shopping spree.
After that, Mary and I went to a baby shower of her brother's girfriend. It was nice, although a lot of people decided to show up at the last minute, but it was nice nonetheless. Later that night, Mary stayed over my house but we fell asleep around one.
It was cool hanging out with her though, and with my other friends on Friday. And to top it off, the Janet Jackson concert, live from Hawaii on HBO Sunday night- a kick ass way to end the weekend!

I didn't even know that today was President's day, until I found out yesterday from my friend Mary that she had the day off from classes. I think that most normal people are out today. I wish that UC was out today.
I dislike Mondays anyways; especially when I stay up late the night before. I had a legit excuse though. The Janet Jackson: Live from Hawaii concert was on last night. Is it okay to say: best live tv concert ever? I think so! :) Made me wish that I was there! One of these days, I'm definately gonna get some tickets to one of her concerts; even if I'm in the nosebleed section- as long as I'm in there! The energy of the fans is unbelievable- I just want to experience it one time; that would make me content. Watching that concert was a great end to a jam-packed weekend. All starting with Friday afternoon....
I met up with my girl June Friday afternoon at the Starbucks on East campus, located in University Hospital. It's amazing where they still find room for more Starbucks, although it seems as if they have supersaturated the market enough as it is, well, physically with their buildings popping up on every corner. :P I'm not much of a coffeee drinker, so I got a Caramel Apple Cider. It was good! I may buy one today before going home, just to make the Monday a bit more bearable. We sat around with some other people and cracked jokes and talked for like 2 hours. I was just happy to see people that I recognized. I've been in a rut this quarter, trying to keep up with classes and trying to stay positive about everything, it was comforting to take it easy and chat with some friends.
After leaving from East Campus, June and I went back to my house to hang out for a little bit and wait for our buddy Tina, whose birthday was Friday! Happy Birthday! She invited us to go to the b-ball game. Bearcats won by like 50+ points; 'nuff said. Except I was trying to flirt with this one guy that was sitting close by June and I. His Bearcats jersey caught my eye- I couldn't contain myself. :P
But there was this old guy there that was getting on my last nerve cuz he was looking at June and I really crazy and ish. I hate to say it like this but here it goes: it probably had something to do with me being Black and June being Asian and the rest of the peoples we were hanging with were Caucasian. I really didn't care cuz for one, they're my friends and two, that would be petty just to think of them just by color. But the older man had a big problem with it. BIG.
